The Softwood 2nds are all the odd shaped logs that don’t conform to the dimensions of our normal logs, but it is exactly the same wood. The logs are generally smaller but each bag does vary and being irregular makes stacking tricky! But if it’s value for money your after these could be the logs for you. These logs are easily lit and give off a really good heat. The bags are predominantly Larch, which is a softwood but a great firewood and has a better heat output than many hardwoods, it is also plentiful locally so a great option for sustainability. It is however prone to spit so not ideal for open fires but a highly recommended product for all stoves. There may also be some Scots pine logs or other softwood among the Larch but the bags are at least 80% larch logs.
